Affiliate Disclosure
How GridLedger makes money, and the rules that keep it away from what we publish.
Account: Squarespace, Inc. · Independent · unaffiliated
GridLedger earns money from affiliate links. When you follow certain links from this site to a company we write about and then buy something, we may receive a commission. You pay exactly the same price either way — the commission comes out of the company's marketing budget, not your pocket.
Which links are affiliate links
Every outbound partner link on this site goes through an address beginning /go/ before it reaches the company. If a link does not start that way, it is an ordinary reference — documentation, a help page, a source we are citing — and it earns us nothing.
Partner links are also marked for search engines with the sponsored and nofollow attributes, which is both the correct technical signal and a reasonable disclosure in itself.
What the commission does not buy
It does not buy a score, a ranking position, a softened criticism or a recommendation. The debits on every page are written before anyone looks at whether a programme pays, and the same standard applies to companies we have no relationship with at all.
The clearest test is the pages themselves. Our Squarespace review spends several sections on the export limits and the absence of a free plan, and a whole entry explains who Squarespace is not for. Those pages cost us money. They stay up because a ledger that only records credits is not a ledger.
Who we have relationships with
We participate in affiliate programmes run by Squarespace and by products in the Squarespace family, including Acuity Scheduling. Programme membership can change, and a link that pays today may not tomorrow. The rule above does not change with it.
Advertising standards
This disclosure exists because readers deserve to know how a publication is funded, and because regulators in several countries require it. If anything about how we are paid is unclear, ask us through the contact page and we will answer directly.
