How We Keep the Ledger

One platform, one running account, every figure dated. Here is who writes it and how the checking works.

GridLedger keeps one account, on one platform. We write about Squarespace and nothing else, because the failure mode of buying advice is breadth without maintenance — a hundred tools covered once and never checked again.

What we publish

Two long pages carry the weight: a Squarespace review that assesses the platform as a whole, and a Squarespace pricing page that sets out every charge in one place. Around them sit shorter entries, each one on a single line item — a plan step, an add-on, a limit, a product inside the Squarespace family.

How a figure gets posted

Prices, fee bands, plan names and stated limits come from Squarespace's own pricing pages and help documentation wherever they are published there. Where the company does not publish a figure in a readable form, we use independent pricing round-ups, cross-check at least two of them, and say in the text that the number is second-hand. Those figures get softer wording — around, roughly, at the time of checking — because that is what they deserve.

Every page carries the date of its last check. When a figure moves, the page moves with it and the date changes. We do not edit a number and leave an old date standing.

What we will not do

  • Invent measurements. We do not publish load times or performance scores for sites we have not built and instrumented, and we do not dress up an assessment of documented capability as a benchmark.
  • Invent people. There are no testimonials on this site, no composite customers, no quotes we did not receive.
  • Soften a debit for a commission. Partner links pay us; they do not edit us. The terms are on the affiliate disclosure page.
  • Keep a dead plan name alive because it still gets searched. When Squarespace retired the Personal and Business tiers, we retired them here too.

Corrections

If a figure on this site is wrong, tell us and we will fix it and date the fix. That is not a courtesy — a ledger with a wrong entry in it is worse than no ledger. Write to us through the contact page.

We are an independent publication. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Squarespace, Inc., and nobody there reviews what we write before it goes up.
